About Daryl Weinman
Senior Attorney, Family Law
Raised with a deep personal understanding of what family means, Daryl Weinman is a Senior Managing Attorney with Gravis Law based in the greater Austin area, where she has spent more than three decades helping families navigate divorce and its related challenges. Board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2000, Daryl has built her entire career around one focus: family law, and she brings that depth of experience to every client she represents.
Daryl practices primarily in Divorce and its related matters, including child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, and the division of marital assets and debts. She also handles post-divorce modifications and enforcements, prenuptial and postmarital agreements, step-parent adoptions, and paternity establishment and disputes, with a particular focus on international and interstate child custody cases and international divorces.
Daryl lives for helping families find their way through some of the hardest moments of their lives. A forceful courtroom advocate when litigation is unavoidable, her background in mediation often allows her to help clients reach agreement without the added cost and stress of a trial. She believes each family is unique and deserves a unique approach to crafting the next phase of their lives, an approach she brings to every case, whether that means fighting hard in the courtroom or finding common ground at the negotiating table.
Daryl is deeply personal about why she does this work. She is a child of divorce, has been through a divorce herself, and is a mother, a stepmother, and now a grandmother. She understands at a deep level the stress, the anxiety, and the other emotions that come packaged with family law issues, because she has faced them herself, and she brings that understanding into every client relationship.
Daryl founded Weinman & Associates in 1994, where she and her team practiced almost exclusively family law for more than 32 years before joining Gravis Law. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States, and she holds a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. She is a trained mediator with specialty training in family dispute mediations, a consulting attorney for HelloPrenup, and a consulting expert with Gehrson Lehman Group. Her professional involvement runs deep, including service as a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a Founding Fellow of the Travis County Bar Foundation, and decades of membership across the State Bar of Texas, the Austin Bar Association, and the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists.
Daryl is also a frequent voice in her field, having taught as a professor for Rice University's Advanced Paralegal Certificate Program, appeared monthly as a podcast guest on The Divorce Hour with Ilyssa Panitz, and spoken on topics ranging from international child custody and the Hague Convention to the intersection of family law with immigration, criminal, and estate planning matters.
When she's not in the courtroom, Daryl has spent years giving back to her community, mentoring students through the Westlake High School Mentorship program, sponsoring youth work-shadow programs across multiple school districts, and volunteering with organizations supporting women and families through difficult transitions.
